— For me, "Fiery Roads", — says the director, — is already the second appeal to the historical and biographical theme. But if in the film about Abu Rayhan Biruni I was dealing with material from a thousand years ago - and there was very little reliable information that came down to us, then everything that happened to Hamza is still in the memory of people who are alive today, many personally knew him, remember him well. This, of course, imposed.we have a huge responsibility: because the audience expects from us a work that is historically reliable, confirmed by the facts of Hamza Hakim-zadeh Niyazi's biography.

And yet it seemed to me that if we only reproduce on the screen the documented facts of our hero's life, we would impoverish both his very image and the theme behind it. It seemed to me that a certain amount of fiction was needed here, so that the image of the hero would not be reduced simply to a copy of the Hamza as his contemporaries knew him, but would rise to some generalization in order to understand. he read the fate of not only this artist, but the fate of the entire intelligentsia at the origins of the revolution, on the eve of the revolution, in the days of the revolution. It was this aspect of the topic that seemed most important to me.

For me, the fact that our film was shown at this film festival is another confirmation of the modernity and significance of the topic we are addressing.They applied.
